To make a Google Doc view-only, you can follow these steps:

  1. Open the Google Doc that you want to share.
  2. Click on the "Share" button in the top-right corner of the page.
  3. In the "Share with people and groups" section, enter the email addresses of the people you want to share the document with.
  4. In the "Permission" section, click on the drop-down menu and select "Can view".
  5. If you want to send a notification email to the recipients, check the box that says "Notify people".
  6. Click on "Send" to send the sharing invitation.

By setting the permission to "Can view", the people you shared the document with will only be able to view the document and not make any changes to it.

If you want to make sure that the document is completely view-only, you can also use the "Share link" option instead of sharing with specific email addresses. To do this, follow these additional steps:

  1. Under the "Share with people and groups" section, click on "Get link".
  2. In the "Link sharing" section, click on the drop-down menu and select "Restricted".
  3. Click on "Copy link" to copy the view-only link to your clipboard.
  4. Share the link with the people you want to give view-only access to.

By using a restricted link, anyone with the link will be able to view the document, but they will not be able to share it or change the sharing settings.
